We are pleased to welcome Molly Jones to the team.
Molly initially trained as a dental nurse and, wanting a more hands on role, went on to qualify in Combined Diploma in Dental Hygiene and Therapy 2017 at University of Liverpool.
We asked Molly what is important to her in her role as a Dental therapist and hygienist.
"I want to provide patients with holistic care giving tailored evidence based education and prevention advise. The aim is to ensure that the oral health is maintained to gold standard guidelines ensuring patients are healthy."
A Dental Therapist is a registered dental professional who provides an important supporting role to the dentists. Under the dentist prescription they can carry out fillings, extractions on deciduous teeth, hygienist work, give essential oral hygiene advise, take impressions and tooth whitening. They can also provide hygiene appointments directly to the patient. This enables the dentist to carry out the dental assessments and more complex treatment plans.
