Spring brings changes at Ruthin Dental Practice

This March we wish Gareth Lloyd a happy retirement.

Gareth graduated in 1977. He cut his teeth in the world of dentistry at a practice in Rhyl before coming to work at Ruthin Dental Practice. During his time here he has worn many hats including Practice Owner, Partner and Associate.

Over the years Gareth has seen many changes and played an important role working for Public Health Wales, Welsh Assembly and Health Boards ensuring dental services are of a high quality and safe.

Gareth has proved dental care to many patients often treating generations of the same family.

I am sure patients, members of the dental team and colleagues he has worked with over the years will join us in wishing Gareth well in his retirement.

Striving to improve

Striving to improve.

“I do the very best I know how, the very best I can, and I mean to keep on doing so until the end.”

Being a dental professional involves commitment to continuously learn and improve your skills and knowledge. This not only applies to the dentist but also to our dental nurses, therapists and hygienists.

Heather and Becca have recently completed training in Smoking Cessation.

As well as other health risks smoking causes staining on the teeth. It can also lead to gum disease and eventually tooth loss. Smoking increases the risk of developing mouth cancer.

Stop Smoking Wales is a free intervention training program to help support anyone who wants to stop smoking. You are 4 times more likely to succeed with NHS support than using will power alone.

You can contact them directly or we can refer you. Ask the dentist or hygienist next time you are in.

Follow the link to Stop Smoking Wales for more details

Congratulations to

Sarah Gregg who has received her Postgraduate Diploma in restorative Dentistry.

And to Joanna Kettle  who attained  Level 3 Diploma in Treatment Coordination.
